A journey on foot from rural France to Spain, crossing the Pyrenees along one of the Camino’s most iconic stages
DOWNLOAD FULL PROGRAMThe walk
Our journey begins in Biarritz, the elegant seaside town on France’s Atlantic coast, long celebrated for its dramatic cliffs, golden beaches, and laid-back surf culture. From here, we step inland to walk the final stages of the Chemin de Puy, the most famous of the French routes to Santiago. This is one of the greenest and most rural stretches of the Camino: rolling farmland, quiet forests, small villages, and a sense of calm that feels far removed from mass tourism. Day by day, we follow ancient paths shaped by centuries of pilgrims, gradually drawing closer to the mountains. The highlight of the journey is the legendary crossing of the Pyrenees, an iconic and emotionally powerful stage that links France and Spain. Walking along routes associated with Charlemagne and Napoleon, we climb through open pastures and high mountain landscapes before descending to Roncesvalles, a place steeped in history and pilgrimage lore. From there, the Camino gently carries us onward into Spain, concluding in Pamplona, where medieval heritage, vibrant streets, and a deep Jacobean tradition offer the perfect setting to reflect on the journey just completed.
A typical day
We start walking at around 8:30 am, after breakfast, group stretch & daily orientation. The walk leaves space for each person to find their own rhythm, weaving together social moments and introspection. Weather permitting, lunch will normally be a gourmet picnic, in some quiet natural space along the way. We end our daily walk between 4 and 6 pm. Before dinner together, there is time for reflection, connection, rest, exploring the surroundings, or enjoying a glass of wine. Every evening a culinary adventure awaits us to discover the cuisine and local products of the best restaurants that we will find along the way.
